Referee Reimbursement Program

RRWSL REFEREE REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM

RRWSL, as an organization, provides and promotes activities that:

  • Foster and advance the cause of women’s participation in soccer;
  • Provide educational activities and skills workshops for members and other participants;
  • Develop and encourage the growth of soccer within Round Rock/Austin and surrounding areas;
  • Guard the interests of its members, regardless of race, creed, sexual preference and/or age, and;
  • Promote goodwill, fair play and sportsmanship through physical fitness.

RRWSL, in an attempt to encourage participation and develop quality female referees, initiates the following Referee Fees Reimbursement Program.  Registrants will be required to participate in officiating RRWSL games as specified by the program below.  This program is only open to current RRWSL members in good standing.

Referee Certification/Re-Certification Fees:

RRWSL will reimburse the cost of the course (normally $80.00) for a certified referee (Level 7 is required to officiate adult leagues) who officiates 3 games, as either a Center or Assistant Referee, in any Division within RRWSL within the season in which reimbursement is requested.  The Referee will receive her regular referee fees for the game(s) officiated.

Referee Uniform and Equipment:

RRWSL will reimburse up to $65.00 for one (1) uniform starter kit for a certified Referee who officiates three games, as either a Center or Assistant Referee, in any Division within RRWSL within the season in which reimbursement is requested.  The Referee will receive her regular referee fees for the game(s) officiated.

The items considered to be essential for a Referee and thus eligible for reimbursement are:

  • USSF short-sleeved or long-sleeved shirt
  • Black referee shorts with pockets
  • Black shoes
  • Red/Yellow card set
  • Data Wallet
  • Scorepad
  • Whistle
  • Velcro disk (badge)
  • Flag set

This is a one-time reimbursement that RRWSL believes will help beginning referees offset the initial costs of becoming a referee.

Request and Reimbursement Process

To participate in the Referee Reimbursement Program, please seek approval from the RRWSL Board to ensure funds are still available.  After you receive approval, you will need to find a referee certification course and pay all registration costs up front.  This reimbursement program is limited to $500.00 for each season and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
